Dreamy Dresses...

Lately I've been in a "oh, yes a dress" mood. Dresses sometimes just ups the anty of femininity and my closet has surely been getting it's fill.

Parental Units...

I had a funny memory moment today. One day a few years ago, I was in my bathroom cleaning the floor but decided to grab hold of my wall unit for leverage..why? That's a great question that I asked myself as the entire unit collapsed, towel, bath & body products were every where. All I heard was my mom (who was downstairs) YELL my name and a millisecond later was in my bathroom asking if I was ok. I wanted to crack up at her lightening speed but decided to save the chuckle for later. I let her know that I was alright but this scene from Meet the Parents immediately came to mind...Dina is my mom all the way.

Carpet Runner DIY-oh-My...

Living in our present home for the past 7 years, you tend to notice some things that you would like to tweak...which brings me to the staircase. It's carpeted, needed some love and a much needed sprucing up.

While in Target this past weekend, my mother and I found some really nice rugs {they remind me of mini mustaches} that sparked my interest for a little quick project. Because the stairs were a bit bland, I decided to create a "staircase runner". We simply scoured about 3-4 Targets looking for more rugs since the patterned ones we'd chosen were on sale, we ended up with about 9-10 rugs. Apparently we didn't need that many but it's better to have more than enough than not enough.

I simply took the rugs beginning at the first full step and began layering {using my handy staple gun to ensure they don't move} them down the steps until the last landing and I must say, it has instantly given our staircase a wonderful new look and feeling. For this project I only used about 7-8 of the rugs and for a inexpensive cost! YAY to DIY!

Bedding...

Currently I'm in the process of looking for new bedding...this task can be daunting in the sense of not quite knowing what you want or welcoming in the sense of you get to pick something new!

Last night I decided that I would try to pinpoint exactly what I wanted for my space and I may have come up with something! Even though I'm not really a purple person, I now feel compelled to add a bit more purple into my room seeing as though I now have a velvet purple chair!

I like this duvet from West Elm which coincidentally looks like this one from Target! I think I may go with the W.E. one since it's a bit lighter in color!

Let the bedding begin...

Macaron Swoon...

I have had a little swelling passion for macarons for quite some time and it was further confirmed after my visit to Bottega Louie while in LA last month. The colors, the flavors, the presentation and most of all the taste, I was sooo giddy and extreme..I purchased 16! I'm thinking that they would be a perfect addition for my BFF's upcoming Bridal Shower. So this print is really giving me a hankering for them once again...

I'm in a...

party planning mood. With so many wonderful occasions popping up this year, it's got me thinking, it's time to plan a party. I've been inspired for a very special party by the following photos:

I'm Healed...

for those of you who may have noticed that I was missing in action, I'm back.

Apparently I've been surounded by a cesspool of germs and somehow managed to catch a cold on Thursday and although I can still feel it's litle icky remnants, I am feeling slightly better. I've been pumping myself full of Vitamin C, water, warm water/lemon/honey and homemade remedies so I think it's working. I still sound like I have a foggy bullhorn in my throat but at least I don't feel as terrible as I had.

Thank the Lord for feeling a smidge better. When you are feeling a bit down due to icky cold viruses taking up residence, what are your methods of getting better?
